“I just designed my first line of handbags….”
“I just got my garage band out of the garage and onto a real stage….”
For one magic moment you recognize that you’ve got what it takes to get your phone to ring off the hook, snag a spot on Oprah, and maybe earn even more money than Donald Trump.
But, then, it happens.
You realize with astounding clarity that your time to arrive has actually arrived. Suddenly, a flood of adrenaline causes your blood pressure to spike to near-stroke level. Your need for real publicity is now, this instant. Everything you’ve worked for appears to be at stake; the opportunity to win or lose everything rests squarely on your ability to promote yourself, your services, or your products.
The clock is ticking for you to perform. You’re scared, you don’t know where to start, and instead of kicking into promotional high gear, you’re muttering like a madman:“Whatta I do… Whatta I do… Whatta I do?”
Okay…so what do you do?
First, slow down. Take a deep breath. Get a grip. You aren’t doomed, you don’t suck, and the light at the end of the tunnel isn’t an oncoming train—it’s your bright future.
